Since we are on the removals topic, I decided to elaborate a little bit more on the important things that one must have in mind before planning their removal.
The choice of a company is the most important decision which you need to take
Almost anyone needs to do a move at some point. It might be a house or an office removal; it might be moving to a new neigbourhood, new city or even a new country. And the best to be sure that things will not get out of control is to exercise control to have things done right. That should start from the very decision for removal.
So once decided that you would move, you need to choose whether you would do the move yourself or you would use the services of a professional removal company. We strongly advise you to use the services of a professional removal company and to not risk doing it on your own. First, you need a truck which you will have to drive on narrow streets and a few physically fit friends who can help with the furniture. Even if you have them, there is no way to look for insurance in case anyone of your friends breaks something, right? But still, you need to look for a company which is professional and has experience. Many people just look for the lowest price and do not even think if there are hidden taxes, insurance or even if the “company”, which sometimes consists of a few people who have no idea how to do a removal without any legal registration, is a real removal company.
Needless to say, choosing the mover will be the hardest task and you need to pay it more attention than even cleaning your house. If you do that wrong, you will have to put a lot of extra effort, resources and time to neutralize the effects of you decision. So be very, very careful and do not think that you have other more important decisions to make concerning the removal. You do not! The other decisions will come as a sequence of your choice.
Another thing you need to decide is whether you want to pack your things alone and pay only for the van or hire a full-service mover, which will do the whole thing for you. For the first, you need only a company with good drivers and stable vans and for the second, you need a fully operating, experienced company with enough skilled personnel. It is up to you and really depends on how much free time you have and what your budget is. But absolutely make sure that the company is good, there are a lot of bad companies out there! Then, you need to decide whether you would buy the boxes from the company or not. The advantages of buying them from the company are that you will pay for only the ones you use and they will fit, while it is hard to estimate the exact number and size of boxes you need and of course, convenience – you will have to go on your own to buy them. The disadvantage – the price per box is higher. And then, just then, you can move on planning!
And one final tip – you may find some moving experience hints here. Read carefully, before you take your decision.
If you have not moved for a long time, you might have forgotten how stressful and time-consuming a move might be. If you have not done it ever, you cannot even imagine how tough the whole experience can be. However, you can decrease your problems, dissatisfaction and complications. What is even more useful, you will save a lot of time.
The cornerstone of having removal without stress and problems is to have enough time for planning. In this way, you can react to and neutralize any unexpected complications. The sooner you start planning, the better. You will be able to react to the unexpected issues on time while if you have several problems at once, you will not be able to solve all of them at the same time and your move can turn into disaster. For example, if you want to pack yourself, do not procrastinate and start sooner. The most difficult removals are normally due to the fact that the customer has delayed everything for the very last day and then, they get nervous, in turn the company employees get nervous and everyone tries to push the things. You can avoid all that by just being more organized.
